In any case, I have a feeling that chances to be shot or die in a terrorist attack in the U.S. are far smaller than chances to die in a car crash or die from the flu. The significance of gun or terror-related deaths is blown out of proportion by the media. Public resources and government efforts would be much better spent elsewhere. Especially considering that measures to address both problems are extremely inefficient. Like, for example, barring millions of innocent people from entry to the U.S. to prevent one potential terrorist from doing so.
