  1. Kabir, a weaver by profession, refused all organised religions for a vision of oneness written in simple Hindi vernacular. As a result, he is acclaimed by Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims, particularly Sufis, and is probably still India’s most quoted poet. A very similar quotation is quite often attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson.
